The German Jordanian University is proud to announce the launch of a key strategic initiative to support sustainable transportation by installing Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Stations in the Main Campus, available for use by GJU Staff at no cost. This initiative is a significant step in the university’s commitment to going Green and reducing carbon emissions, achieving long-term sustainability goals.
The service is:
- Provided by two EV Charging Stations located in Parking A – Ground Level.
- Available only to GJU Staff.
- Available during workdays (Sunday through Thursdays) from 9 am to 3 pm.
- Currently free of charge.
The guidelines for using the service are:
- GJU staff need to book a session using the link to receive the service.
- To use the service, the GJU staff with their vehicles must first go to SIMD to obtain the charging card.
- The booking confirmation along with the GJU Car Permit Card and the Vehicle License must be shown to SIMD to acquire approval for the service.
- A SIMD representative will then direct you to the select EV Charging Station.
- After the charging session is completed, the GJU staff must disconnect and move their vehicle to allow the next session to begin.
Please note that each station offers two sessions per day. The first session is from 9 am to 12 pm and the second session is from 12 pm to 3 pm.
The service undergoes the following policies:
- Each GJU staff member is limited to reserving one 3-hour session per week.
- A booking is automatically cancelled if the reserved GJU staff member fails to arrive at SIMD within 30 minutes of the scheduled start session.
- A booking may be rescheduled or cancelled when needed.
- GJU staff members who fail to remove their vehicle after their session or fail to comply with instructions will incur a penalty point. Repeated offenses may result in the employee being blacklisted from the service.
- GJU is not responsible for any damage that may occur during the charging session.
