Yarmouk University, the University of Jordan, and Zarqa University won the first three places in the German Jordanian University (GJU) Sustainability Competition GJU 3030 for university students. The
competition aims to support innovation and encourage sustainable technological solutions.
Student teams from the University of Jordan, Yarmouk, Mutah, Al al-Bayt, the German Jordanian University, Al-Balqa Applied University, Princess Sumaya University for Technology, Zarqa University, and Al-Hussein Technical University participated in the competition.
During the closing ceremony, University President Professor Ala'aldeen Al-Halhouli praised the level of the participants, their creativity, and their passion for presenting sustainable technological solutions. Al-Halhouli said, "This achievement reflects our students' commitment to applying the principles of sustainability and innovation in their projects. We are proud of all the participants and look forward to seeing these ideas turn into real solutions that contribute to improving our communities and environment."
The first place was awarded to Yarmouk University's team for their project "Developing Sustainable and Low-Cost Glowing Concrete," led by students Bayan Al-Zayoud, Raghad Twalbah, Duha Shannaq, Mohammad Al-Tamimi, and Bashar Al-Azzam. The project reflects the team's efforts to provide a sustainable and innovative solution to improve building materials using advanced and cost-effective techniques.
The second place was won by the University of Jordan's team for their pioneering project "Neuro Vision," led by students Mira Melhem, Maha Al-Hayajneh, Mirna Abu Dahim, and Wessan Al-Hawari. The project focuses on developing new technologies in the field of neural vision, reflecting progress and innovation in this field.
The third place went to Zarqa University's team for their project "Qatra," which included students Haneen Khnifer, Tasneem Al-Hamali, and Batool Qirqash. The "Qatra" project expresses the team's commitment to innovation and providing new technological solutions to address current challenges in effective and innovative ways.
The German Jordanian University emphasizes the importance of supporting and encouraging academic innovation and appreciates the efforts of all the participating teams who presented outstanding projects.
