A delegation of Syrian university presidents participating in the Jordanian–Syrian Dialogue Forum visited the German Jordanian University (GJU) to learn about its pioneering model in applied education, scientific research, innovation, and entrepreneurship, as well as its advanced learning environment and infrastructure supporting both education and research.

The university president, Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli, received the delegation and delivered a brief presentation on the university’s establishment and academic mission. He highlighted its educational model, which integrates theoretical and practical aspects, its international partnerships—particularly with academic and industrial institutions in Germany—and its role in preparing graduates equipped with both academic knowledge and practical skills to meet labor market demands locally, regionally, and globally.

The visit included a field tour of the university’s facilities, including the Deanship of Innovation, Technology Transfer, and Entrepreneurship (DI-TECH), and the Technology, Research, and Innovation Park (TRIP). The delegation was received by Dr. Fadwa Dababneh, who provided an overview of the university’s innovation ecosystem and the programs and initiatives designed to support students and researchers in developing their ideas into entrepreneurial projects with economic and societal impact.

The tour also included a visit to the industry 4.0 Laboratory at the School of Applied Technical Sciences, which is equipped with the latest devices and technologies that support hands-on education and scientific research. It also covered the laboratories of the School of Nursing, which rely on advanced simulation and training technologies. The delegation was accompanied by the Dean of the faculty, Dr. Mayada Daibes, who delivered a presentation on the educational and practical capabilities offered by the faculty to prepare students according to the highest academic and professional standards.

The delegation also reviewed the Edu-Syria Project, where the project director, Prof. Dhiah el Diehn Abou-Tair, provided an overview of its establishment, objectives, development phases, and its role in expanding access to education, empowering youth, and strengthening academic and development partnerships.

Additionally, the delegation visited the German Language Center at GJU and learned about its educational and training programs, as well as its role in promoting German language learning and supporting cultural and academic exchange.

At the conclusion of the visit, the delegation expressed their admiration for the university’s advanced facilities and resources, praising its model as a leading example that combines applied education, innovation, scientific research, and openness to international partnerships.
