Three students from the ASHRAE student branch at the German Jordanian University won the first three places in the student competition at the level of the RAL (Region-At-Large, which includes countries in the Middle East and Africa) and Region XV (which includes countries in the Indian subcontinent), after the competition was conducted in two stages, student Dima Hamouda won first place, student Faisal Abdullah won second place, and student Khaled Ghazal won third place.

 

ASHRAE is an American non-profit professional association that advances the design and construction of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems with more than 50,000 professional members in more than 130 countries worldwide. The student branch of the association was established in the Department of Mechanical and Maintenance Engineering at the German Jordanian University less than a year ago to be one of the most active student branches supporting the activities of the Jordanian branch of the association.

 

It is worth noting that the student branch of the association at the German Jordanian University is run by Eng. Mohammad Al-Shimi, under the direct supervision of the Head of the Mechanical and Maintenance Engineering Department, Dr. Bashar Hammad, the instructor of the Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration course in the department, Prof. Dr. Raafat Al-Waked, with unlimited support from the University President, Prof. Dr. Alaa Al-Din Al-Halhouli and Dean of the College of Applied Technical Sciences, Prof. Dr. Iyas Khadr.
