The President of the German Jordanian University (GJU), Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli, welcomed the Saudi cultural attaché in Jordan Dr. Issa Irmaih and the accompanying delegation, in the presence of the Vice-President, Prof. Malik Al-Sharairi, to strengthen the bonds of cooperation and relations, also discuss ways of collaboration in various fields.

Dr. Al-Halhouli praised the distinguished relations between the two sides and his appreciation for the continuous Saudi support to Jordan, expressing his hope to increase cooperation for the benefit of young people in the two countries.

Dr. Al-Halhouli also gave a comprehensive overview of the university and the applied scientific curriculum, which is based on the practical application during the study and the German Year, in which GJU students spend an academic semester and internship semester one of the companies or industries in Germany, noting that GJU has partnerships with 120 universities and nearly two thousand companies in Germany.

Dr. Al-Halhouli also added that GJU is working to graduate students who are receptive to the concepts of innovation, leadership, multicultural, and multilingual by promoting scientific, cultural exchange activities and summer camps, noting that GJU holds the largest German Language Center in the world in inside the main campus. In addition, the university receives forty academics from Germany annually to give lectures to students in various disciplines within the Flying Faculty program.

For his part, Dr. Irmaih praised the level of Jordanian education and the university’s approach and its endeavor to graduate students with scientific and practical competencies, emphasizing the importance of opening channels of communication with universities and faculty members in Saudi Arabia through scientific visits and research projects.

At the end of the meeting, which was attended by the Director of Academic Supervision, Abdul Salam Al-Sayer, and the Director of Public Relations, Misha’al Al-Hwaiti at the attaché, the delegation toured some of the university's facilities and the library.
