In order to empower the Jordanian students and support entrepreneurial projects, Royal Jordanian and the German Jordanian University signed a memorandum of understanding to train students of specific majors and assist them in completing their graduation projects, as well as to enable graduates to find job opportunities at RJ.
The memorandum, signed by RJ Vice Chairman/CEO Samer Majali and President of the German Jordanian University Prof. Ala'aldeen Al-Halhouli, in the presence of a number of employees from both institutions, also helps support students and German Jordanian University graduates with pioneering ideas to develop their entrepreneurial projects and turn them into real job opportunities.
Majali expressed RJ's keenness to help the Jordanian youths to engage in the labor market and empower them economically, promoting a culture of innovation and creativity, bridging the gap between labor market requirements and education through training and employment, supporting entrepreneurial projects, and building and developing their capabilities in different fields.
He said that the MoU reflects the future strategy of the national carrier, which works to support the Jordanian youths and elevate their competency in an effort to help overcome difficulties faced in the process of gaining employment by qualifying and employing young Jordanians in different RJ locations.
Prof. Al-Halhouli said that the German Jordanian University is looking forward to building real partnerships with national institutions, based on its strategic vision to be an international university of applied sciences and a pioneer in education, research, innovation, entrepreneurship and community service, and a role model in strengthening bridges between Jordan and Germany.
He added that the university established last year the Deanship of Innovation, Technology Transfer and Entrepreneurship to boost the culture of leadership in the university and society and to embrace young people's emerging and creative ideas to benefit the country. He praised the cooperation with Royal Jordanian, the national carrier, and expressed pride in the achievements it has achieved.
