Prof. Ala’ Fathi Khalifeh, Professor at the German Jordanian University and Advisor to the President for Campus Life and Diversity, has been honored with the IEEE Jordan Section Volunteer Award for 2024/2025. This recognition comes alongside the selection of the IEEE Jordan Section as the 2025 IEEE Member and Geographic Activities (MGA) Outstanding Large Section, a global honor among more than 350 IEEE sections. Prof. Khalifeh, a dedicated IEEE member since 1996 has held numerous leadership roles, including Chair and Past Chair of the IEEE Jordan Section, and contributed significantly to local and international collaborations, MoUs, and IEEE conferences.
In addition to his leadership within Jordan, Prof. Khalifeh has played a regional and global role through committees and advisory groups in IEEE Region 8 and MGA. He has chaired and co-chaired several international conferences and received multiple recognitions, including the IEEE Jordan Section Appreciation Trophy (2023) and the IEEE Region 8 Certificate of Achievement (2023). Expressing gratitude, he credited his success to teamwork within IEEE and strong support from the German Jordanian University. His award highlights the growing impact of IEEE Jordan Section on both national and international levels.
