Her Royal Highness Princess Ayah bint Faisal, Member of the Board of Directors of the Jordan Olympic Committee, inaugurated the Arab Karate Championship, hosted by the Jordan Karate Federation at the sports hall of the German Jordanian University (GJU) in Madaba Governorate.

The two-day championship witnessed the participation of around 360 male and female athletes representing 12 Arab countries: Algeria, Bahrain, Iraq, Lebanon, Libya, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, the United Arab Emirates, Yemen, and Jordan.

The competitions included various age categories, from children, cadets, and juniors, to the U21 and seniors categories, and featured individual and team kata events for both genders.

At the conclusion of the first day of competition, the Jordanian national teams topped the medals table with a total of 25 medals: 11 gold, 6 silver, and 8 bronze, reflecting Jordan’s excellence in both performance and organization.
