At the beginning of his official visit to China, Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli, President of the German Jordanian University (GJU), accompanied by Dr. Fadwa Dababneh, Director of the Technology, Research, and Innovation Park (TRIP) at GJU, visited Agro Technology Company in Beijing, where he was briefed on the company’s core activities and its ongoing projects in the Middle East. The delegation also toured the company’s facilities at the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS).
During the meeting, the two parties explored opportunities for collaboration on joint projects in the fields of smart agricultural technology and hydroponics, with the goal of addressing the needs of Jordan and the region. The meeting concluded with the signing of a Mutual Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
Prof. Al-Halhouli emphasized during the visit that the future is built on partnerships, highlighting that genuine investment transcends financial considerations to encompass mutual trust, knowledge sharing, and collaborative support. He stated: “When a partnership is founded on mutual benefit, it becomes a driving force that transforms ambitions into achievements and opens new horizons for growth.”
He added that the GJU considers itself a bridge connecting science, industry, and society. Through the TRIP, the university provides an integrated platform for researchers that offers space for creativity and innovation, opportunities for students to realize their ideas and turn them into tangible realities, and support for industrial companies to develop their businesses and find solutions to their challenges."It is the synergy of these efforts that will shape a brighter future and support sustainable economic and social development."
It is worth noting that the company has achieved successful outcomes and undertaken similar projects in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which enhances the potential to leverage this expertise and foster future strategic partnerships.
