As part of a series of meetings with the university’s schools, the President of the German Jordanian University (GJU), Prof. Dr. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli, met with the School of Computing, aiming to enhance direct communication and strengthen the principles of partnership and integration among all components of the university community.
During the meeting, Dr. Al-Halhouli reviewed the latest developments at GJU and the ongoing strategic projects, highlighting key areas of institutional development and academic modernization. He emphasized the qualitative progress the university is achieving in education and scientific research, which enhances its competitiveness locally and internationally, particularly in the fields of digital transformation, innovation, and modern technologies.
He also discussed the opportunities available to academic staff through the Deanship of Innovation, Technology Transfer and Entrepreneurship and the Technology, Research and Innovation Park, stressing their role in supporting applied scientific research, fostering an innovative environment, enabling technological and entrepreneurial projects, and linking academic outcomes with labor market needs and national priorities.
For his part, the Dean of the School of Computing, Dr. Ammar Graibeh, presented an overview of the school’s future plan and its key priorities for the upcoming phase. These focus on developing academic programs, enhancing scientific research in artificial intelligence, data science, and cybersecurity, as well as expanding cooperation and partnerships with local and international institutions, contributing to preparing graduates capable of competing and excelling in the rapidly evolving technology labor market.
