The German Jordanian University (GJU), in collaboration with the German University of Magdeburg-Stendal of Applied Sciences, has inaugurated a Master’s Program in Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management. The launch event, sponsored by the Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, Ahmed Hanandeh, marked the beginning of the program, which will welcome its first cohort in the first semester of the 2024/2025 academic year.

 

Under the patronage of Orange Jordan, Minister Hanandeh highlighted that the program represents a significant advancement in enhancing Jordan's entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem. He emphasized the importance of equipping Jordanian youth with the skills and knowledge necessary to navigate future challenges, underscoring the critical role of entrepreneurship and innovation in driving modern economic development amid rapid technological advancements.

 

Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli, President of the German Jordanian University, remarked that the program underscores the university’s dedication to fostering a leading role in regional innovation and leadership. He described the university as an exemplar of innovation in applied education, committed to aligning its offerings with market demands and future trends.

 

Dr. Eyas Khader, Dean of the School of Applied Technical Sciences, Dr. Nidal Al-Shawara, Dean of Innovation, Technology Transfer, and Entrepreneurship, and Dr. Lina Abu Al-Haija, each addressed the audience, explaining that the program is designed for ambitious and innovative thinkers. It aims to provide the tools and knowledge necessary to transform creative ideas into practical realities. The program will integrate innovation management with entrepreneurship on an international scale, focusing on identifying and developing opportunities for technology-driven startups and corporate innovation.

 

The program also addresses the intersection of industrial engineering with administrative and commercial processes to ensure successful and sustainable innovations. It equips stakeholders with essential tools and governance frameworks to establish and manage effective innovation departments, fostering strategic innovation across organizations.

 

The launch event included a panel discussion titled "The Role of Universities in Enhancing the Entrepreneurship Environment in Jordan," moderated by Dr. Fadwa Dababneh, featuring contributions from various private sector representatives.
