In a scene reflecting the growing spirit of creativity among Jordanian university students, the GJU 3030 competition, organized by German Jordanian University, served as a national platform for discovering entrepreneurial ideas and transforming them into innovative technological projects.
This year’s competition witnessed broad participation from 20 public and private universities across the Kingdom, bringing together more than 400 male and female students under the supervision of around 80 mentors. Out of 160 submitted projects, 72 advanced to the final stages, in a competition that demonstrated an advanced level of innovation and creative thinking among university youth.
In the competition results, The Hashemite University won first place for the project “AI-Enabled Autonomous Boat for Smart Aquaponics Water Monitoring and Management”, receiving a cash prize of 1,500 Jordanian Dinars, under the supervision of Dr. Mohammad Hayajneh.
Applied Science Private University secured second place with a prize of 1,000 Jordanian Dinars for the project “SIHHA: Smart Healthcare Platform”, supervised by Dr. Mansour Al-Hlalat and Prof. Mohammad Hajjawi.
Meanwhile, GJU achieved third place with a prize of 500 Jordanian Dinars for the project “Gamified Real-time Biofeedback for Pulmonary Rehabilitation”, supervised by Dr. Jumana Matouq.
In the special award categories, Princess Sumaya University for Technology received the Best Oral Presentation Award, valued at 200 Jordanian Dinars, for the project “Sair: Drone-based Real-time Traffic Intelligence for Amman”, supervised by Dr. Hiba Abdel Nabi.
Al Hussein Technical University won the Problem-Solving and Impact Award, valued at 200 Jordanian Dinars, for the project “Miyah Sphere”, supervised by Eng. Radi Al-Rashed.
The University of Jordan earned the Creativity, Integration, and Inclusivity Award, also valued at 200 Jordanian Dinars, for the project “VR OT Connect”, supervised by Dr Omar Al-Kadi.
The competition is considered one of the leading platforms supporting university innovation in Jordan, with support from Housing Bank, which was honored for its role in supporting youth initiatives and fostering an environment of innovation.
