The President of the German Jordanian University (GJU), Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli, welcomed the Iraqi Cultural Attaché in Amman, Dr. Waseem Al-Tamimi, to discuss ways of cooperation between the two sides in the scientific and cultural fields.
During the meeting, Dr. Al-Halhouli indicated that the German Jordanian University welcomes cooperation with Iraqi cultural and educational institutions to present to Iraqi youth GJU academic programs, especially the programs that Iraqi society needs in light of the current conditions, such as social work/ migration and refugees and Architectural Conservation.
Dr. Al-Halhouli added that GJU provides a suitable environment for creativity and innovation that enables students to accomplish achievements in Jordan and Germany, pointing out that the university has a network of relations with more than one hundred and twenty German institutions and many factories and companies in Jordan and Germany.
Furthermore, Al-Halhouli pointed out that partnerships with the German side could be materialized by opening offices and branches in Jordan to attract industrial projects that provide training and operational opportunities for Jordanian youth.
For his part, Al-Tamimi praised the university's distinguished academic reputation among Arab and regional universities, expressing the desire of Iraqi universities to benefit from the expertise and experience of the GJU at all levels.
Both sides agreed to implement a set of remote activities to familiarize Iraqi universities with GJU's role in developing the process of higher education and further discussions of ways of cooperation.
