GJU Student Muhammad Al-Harout from the School of Applied Technical Sciences won second place in Dr. Yacoub Nasereddin Award for Free Reading and Creative Writing Award, in the category of free reading.
The competition, which was held for all public and private Jordanian universities students, aims to enhance the attachment of students to their language and identity and to encourage self-learning, and it opens the door to acquiring general culture and positive moral values, through reading as well as motivating them to cultivate their creative capabilities in the field of writing.
The winners were honored by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Middle East University, Dr. Yacoub Nasereddin, in the presence of a number of Jordanian university presidents and student affairs deans.
The Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Thelal Owies, congratulated Al-Harout for winning second place, indicating the university's keenness; through the Students Affairs deanship; to develop students reading and writing skills in Arabic language.
