During a visit to German Jordanian University, the Jordanian Chapter of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) recognized university students who achieved top rankings in an international competition. The ceremony, which included a meeting with the university's President,Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli , celebrated the students who won the top three positions in the Region-At-Large (RAL) competition, encompassing countries in the Middle East and Africa, and Region XV, which includes countries in the Indian subcontinent. The honored students were: Dima Hamoudah, who secured first place; Faisal Abdullah, who earned second place; and Khaled Ghazzal, who achieved third place.
In addition to the awards presentation, Prof. Al-Halhouli and the ASHRAE delegation—comprising Branch President Eng. Muzaffar Amayesh, ASHRAE's incoming President Eng. Alaa Al-Din Al-Swayti, and Head of the Government Affairs Committee Eng. Hilal Abu Zahra—discussed ways to enhance academic and engineering relations between ASHRAE Jordan and German Jordanian University. The aim is to elevate the scientific and professional standards of the university's engineering graduates and align academic outputs with labor market needs through the organization of training courses, scientific visits, and engineering workshops.
The meeting, attended by the Dean of the School of Applied Technical Sciences, Professor Iyad Khader, the Head of the Mechanical Engineering and Maintenance Department, Dr. Bashar Hamad, Professor Raafat Al-Waked, HVAC instructor, and the student chapter president of ASHRAE at the university, Engineer Mohammad Al-Shaymi, concluded with ASHRAE's acknowledgment of the university's contributions. The university and the Mechanical Engineering and Maintenance Department were honored for their support of ASHRAE activities in Jordan and their active participation in their success.
