The German Jordanian University (GJU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Watad Agricultural Fertilizers Company to enhance joint cooperation in agricultural research and development, as well as innovation in modern smart farming technologies. The partnership aims to contribute to sustainable development and strengthen the link between the academic and industrial sectors.
The agreement was signed by GJU President Prof. Ala'aldeen Al- Halhouli and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Watad, Mr. Muhannad Al-Manaseer, in the presence of representatives from both sides.
The MoU aims to develop smart agriculture systems and technologies, exchange academic and technical expertise in the fields of irrigation, landscape and green space design, in addition to conducting joint laboratory tests and developing innovative organic products. The agreement also includes cooperation in student practical training, organizing workshops and scientific conferences, and enhancing employment and training opportunities within the group’s companies.
During the signing ceremony, Prof. Al- Halhouli emphasized the importance of such partnerships in supporting innovation and applied research, as well as in providing practical solutions that serve the agricultural sector and contribute to the development of the national economy. He noted that the university constantly seeks to strengthen its cooperation with the private sector in education, training, and development.
For his part, Mr. Al-Manaseer expressed his pride in collaborating with the German Jordanian University, affirming Watad Group’s commitment to supporting academic and scientific efforts that enhance the efficiency of Jordan’s agricultural sector and employ modern technologies to advance agricultural development.
