The German Jordanian University (GJU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ARCS Arci Culture Solidali (Italy), Rowabi Farah/Fazaatak, and Nexus Nature, aimed at advancing smart agriculture technologies, applied research, and entrepreneurship in alignment with Jordan’s sustainable development goals.
The partnership seeks to strengthen collaboration between the academic sector, civil society, and the private sector to develop practical and innovative solutions in food security, climate change adaptation, and circular green growth.
Under the agreement—signed by Professor Ala’aldeen Alhalhouli, President of GJU, and Laith Dwaikat, Agricultural Advisor at Rowabi Farah—the partners announced the launch of the Rowabi Farah/Fazaatak Initiative under the title “Research Universities Network (RUN)”, which will be managed by GJU under the brand “GJU RUN.”
The GJU RUN Network will serve as a national platform connecting researchers, students, NGOs, and entrepreneurs to implement applied projects, pilot initiatives, and innovation challenges in sustainable agriculture and healthy food systems.
Professor Ala’aldeen Alhalhouli emphasized the significance of the partnership, stating:“This collaboration reflects GJU’s commitment to applied learning and innovation that directly benefits society and the economy.”
Mr. Laith Dwaikat highlighted the importance of engaging youth and academia in agricultural transformation, noting:“Believing in the pivotal role of universities and youth in shaping the future of safe and healthy food, this partnership connects students and researchers with farmers and producers to drive innovation and promote ethical food practices.”
ARCS expressed its pride in the collaboration, stating:“We are proud to partner with GJU and local stakeholders to expand green entrepreneurship opportunities and strengthen the resilience of the agricultural sector.”
Nexus Nature added:“This partnership is a great opportunity to apply our technologies in ways that foster sustainable growth and create positive impact. Together, we are planting the seeds for a smarter, greener, and more sustainable future for Jordan and the region.”
