The President of the German Jordanian University (GJU), Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli, met with the Secretary-General of the Association of Arab Universities, Prof. Amr Ezzat Salama, to discuss cooperation between the two sides in the academic fields, especially those related to applied, technical and vocational education, the programs offered by the GJU to qualify students and provide applied field training.

Dr. Al-Halhouli praised the efforts of the Association and their follow-up on the university's participation in most of the programs and projects proposed by the Association.

He stressed that the GJU is considered a successful and distinguished experience in the Arab region, indicating the partnership with 120 German universities to receive the students for the first semester of the German Year, and in the second semester, students train in the German industry.

Dr. Al-Halhouli added that the rate of university students obtaining job opportunities reached 87 percent of graduates in the first six months after graduation.

For his part, Dr. Salama reviewed the most important qualitative and necessary projects dealt with at the union, foremost of which is the Arab Classification Project for Universities, the Unified Framework for Arab Qualifications, and qualitative academic projects.

Both sides agreed to hold an introductory symposium to present the GJU's experience to the presidents of Arab universities, and the possibility of organizing a conference includes the presidents of German applied and technical universities in the future.
