The President of the German Jordanian University (GJU), Prof. Alaaldeen Al-Halhouli, met with a delegation of Syrian university presidents participating in the Jordanian–Syrian Higher Education Dialogue Forum, where discussions focused on prospects for enhancing academic cooperation, expanding areas of partnership, and exchanging expertise among Arab universities. 

During the meeting, Al-Halhouli emphasized the importance of building effective academic relationships among higher education institutions in the Arab world and strengthening joint efforts in education, scientific research, and innovation. He noted that such collaboration contributes to preparing qualified young professionals capable of meeting future demands.

He further highlighted that the future of higher education depends on cooperation and integration among Arab universities, stressing that knowledge exchange and the establishment of strategic partnerships are fundamental pillars for empowering youth, enhancing their capabilities, and opening broader horizons for creativity, innovation, and positive change.

For his part, the Assistant Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the Syrian Arab Republic, Dr. Abdulhamid Al-Khaled, expressed his appreciation for the warm reception. He praised the advanced academic standing achieved by GJU and underscored the importance of strengthening cooperation among Arab universities in a way that serves students and youth while supporting the exchange of academic expertise and experiences.

On the sidelines of the visit, the delegation was introduced to the activities of the GJU 3030 competition within the university track, in the presence of the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Farah Al-Atrash, who delivered a presentation outlining the competition’s objectives, themes, and its role in developing students’ skills and promoting a culture of innovation, entrepreneurship, and teamwork.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed the importance of continuing joint cooperation in a way that enhances the quality of higher education and supports students’ aspirations toward a more distinguished future.
