The President of the German Jordanian University (GJU), Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli, met with the Chief Technical Advisor for the Crisis Response Support Program at the International Labor Organization (ILO), Qais Qatamin, to discuss ways of collaboration in the areas of vocational and technical training programs, innovation, entrepreneurship, community service, and dual studies.

Dr. Al-Halhouli presented the university's pillars, programs, its role in promoting a culture of leadership and innovation, providing distinguished quality education as well as managing the Syrian-Jordanian Education Program that grants Syrian refugees and Jordanian youth in refugee-affected areas access to higher and vocational education through scholarships funded by the EU, stressing the importance of preparing skilled graduates through building strategic partnerships with various institutions and partnering and allocating the right project that serves the community.

For his part, Qatamin presented the ILO programs and their mechanism of action to employ unemployed Jordanians and Syrians. From his side, the training consultant at the university, Dr. Mahmoud Al-Disi, presented the reality of vocational and technical training in Jordan and the possibility of implementing various professional programs within the professional sectors according to the needs of the labor market.

At the end of the meeting, it was agreed to increase bilateral meetings to discuss joint projects and initiatives that serve the community and the entire country.
