The German Jordanian University (GJU), represented by Prof. Osama Saadeh, Dean of the Deanship of Innovation, Technology Transfer and Entrepreneurship (DI-TECH), participated in the National Artificial Intelligence Forum, “From Adoption to Impact,” organized by the Information and Communications Technology Association of Jordan (intaj), under the patronage of HRH Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, with the participation of leading decision-makers, experts, and representatives from the academic and industrial sectors.

GJU's participation came as part of a panel discussion titled “Who Creates Impact? Talent, Inclusivity, and Jordan's Competitive Advantage in Artificial Intelligence,” which explored ways to translate the potential of artificial intelligence into tangible economic and developmental impact.

Dr. Saadeh emphasized the importance of moving beyond knowledge generation towards translating knowledge into practical applications, products, and startups. He stressed that universities' success should be measured by their economic and societal impact, rather than solely by their academic and research outputs.

He also highlighted the importance of involving the industrial sector in setting research and development priorities and strengthening the ecosystem of innovation, technology transfer, and entrepreneurship. Such efforts, he noted, help align university outputs with market needs and contribute to creating employment opportunities.

He further stressed that strengthening Jordan's competitiveness in artificial intelligence requires coordinated efforts among universities, the government, and the private sector, alongside investment in national talent and future-oriented skills. He affirmed that true success is not measured merely by adopting technology, but by the ability to transform it into sustainable economic value and move beyond using technology towards developing and innovating it.

This participation reaffirms GJU's role in advancing applied innovation and technology transfer, supporting digital transformation, and enhancing the competitiveness of the national economy.
