The German Jordanian University (GJU) participated in the inaugural meeting of the Jordanian–German Steering Committee on Labour Mobility, which was held under the patronage of the Ministry of Labour in Amman.
The meeting brought together a distinguished group of decision-makers and partners from both Jordan and Germany, including the Minister of Labour, the German Ambassador, representatives of government entities, the Vocational Training Corporation, the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), and leading academic institutions, within the framework of strengthening joint cooperation in this vital field.
The university was represented by its President, Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli, and Dr. Ziad Abu El-Rub, Principal Investigator of the EJIM project. It presented its flagship initiative, EJIM (Empowering Jordanian Candidates for the International Labour Market), which showcases an integrated model for preparing Jordanian talent through assessment, targeted training, and engagement with international partners.
The presentation highlighted the importance of developing scalable, practice-oriented models that align educational outcomes with labour market needs, while also enhancing opportunities for international cooperation and partnerships.
This participation reflects GJU’s active role as a strategic partner in supporting national priorities and in contributing to the development of sustainable and impactful pathways in the field of labour mobility.
