The German Jordanian University (GJU) participated in the activities of the 8th International Education Exhibition (EDEX), which was launched in the city of Erbil in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, with wide participation from official and private Jordanian higher education institutions. This event was jointly organized by the Jordanian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Jordan Tourism Board, aiming to enhance academic cooperation and expand regional partnerships.

The university’s delegation was headed by Prof. Malek Alsharairi, Vice President of GJU, accompanied by Ms. Khlida Radaideh, Director of the Center for Arabic Language and Culture. The university showcased through its distinguished pavilion its most prominent academic programs that combine theoretical and practical aspects, with a special focus on the Arabic Language program for non-native speakers, which is witnessing increasing demand from students in the Kurdistan Region.

Prof. Alsharairi emphasized that the university’s participation comes in line with its vision of regional and international expansion, and to introduce its academic model that combines high-quality education with practical training. He pointed out that the German program and corporate training provide the university’s students with a strong competitive advantage in the local and international labor markets.

He added that the university prioritizes strengthening relations with academic institutions in the Kurdistan Region and attracting more international students, especially given the official recognition of Jordanian universities by the Ministry of Higher Education in the region. He also praised the significant efforts exerted by the Ministry of Higher Education and the Jordan Tourism Board in supporting educational tourism in Jordan.
