The President Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli, attended the 5th Alumni ambassadors meeting (online) that organized by Magdeburg-Stendal University, for the GJU alumni who live and work in Germany. The meeting took place over the weekend 19-20/11/2022 at Frankfurt city.
The president gave the opening speech and explained the importance of the alumni as ambassadors of GJU, and summarized the strategic objectives for GJU and the new academic programs that were implemented at the university. In addition, to the role of GJU alumni and their thoughts in developing and enhancing these programs, which would raise the impact of GJU at the society and the regional job labor market.
The president also focused on the role of the alumni in supporting the university in the Arabic and world QS ranking for universities by updating and sharing their employers’ information with the employability section at GJU, which would lead to increase the number of GJU university partners in Germany, so the visibility of GJU would increase accordingly.
The president talked about how GJU is transferring to be smart and innovative university, by creating the new deanship of innovation, technology transfer and entrepreneurship to be major link between the university and the industry.
At the end, the president highlighted the new joint programs in research and the first PHD join program, the new system of marks, the new incubating space for startups, and increasing the master degree scholarships at GJU, confirming the ultimate support from the university to the alumni and create more programs for them to enhance their involvement with GJU.
The representative of DI-TECH, Mr. Abdulraouf AlDwairi, conducted presentations about DI-TECH and the employability section, explaining the objectives and how the alumni could be part of the sustainable development of GJU.
GJU alumni participated in a 2 days workshop to come up with ideas and initiatives to assist in enhancing engagement with GJU. The alumni presented the outcomes of the workshop to the President.
