The International Affairs Department (IAD) at the German Jordanian University (GJU) organized a field trip for students participating in the 2026 Student Exchange Program to the Zobia Forests in Irbid Governorate. The trip aimed to introduce students to Jordanian nature and culture while promoting cultural exchange between the students and the local community, in cooperation with the hiking community Ward Adventures.
The students were accompanied during the trip by Incoming Students Coordinator Saleem Abu Harb, along with a number of students from partner universities, including Frankfurt, Bonn, Leipzig, and Merseburg universities. Several members of IAD and the International Students Club also participated, adding an interactive and culturally enriching atmosphere to the event.
During the tour, the students experienced the natural charm of Jordan’s spring landscape, particularly the Zobia Forests, one of the most prominent eco-tourism destinations in northern Jordan. They expressed their admiration for the scenic beauty and environmental diversity of the area, emphasizing that the experience offered a valuable opportunity for cultural exchange and for discovering Jordan beyond the academic setting.
This trip is part of a series of extracurricular activities and programs organized by GJU for international students, aiming to enhance their integration into the university environment and local community, support cultural exchange with Jordanian students, and introduce them to Jordan’s most notable natural and tourist attractions.
