The German Jordanian University (GJU) organized a talk on EU Erasmus+ Funding Opportunities within GJU Discourse Series – A Transnational Education (TNE) Activity, Funded by DAAD with funds from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
GJU Discourse Series highlights points of shared interest in the German and Jordanian scientific communities. Based on the mission of the University to enhance the excellent scientific relationship between the two countries, it offers a platform for the exchange of ideas and opinions as well as aims to contribute to the development of both systems.
During the meeting, the President of GJU, Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-halhouli, presented the importance of collaboration between European and Jordanian institutions, stating that internationalization is a core principle of GJU concept by equipping students with education and mandatory study exchanges and internship in Germany. In addition, staff members contribute to internationalization by participating in the Erasmus+ exchange.
Furthermore, Prof. Al-halhouli presented data on the Erasmus+ program at GJU and the role of the International Project Office (IPO) at GJU in facilitating faculty participation in international projects, developing proposals, and agreements, and networking with international universities and funding agencies.
On the other hand, the Director of the National Erasmus+ Office - Jordan, European Commission, Prof. Ahmad Abu El-Haija, presented an Overview of Erasmus+ 2021-2027, main features of the International Dimension of the new program, opportunities for cooperation, horizontal priorities and overview of main actions open to Jordan.
At the end of the meeting, which was moderated by the faculty member at GJU, Dr. Dhiah Abou-Tair a Q&A session was conducted.
