The Association of Energy Engineers Club of the Deanship of Student Affairs (DSA) at the German Jordanian University (GJU) organized a lecture on the Reality and Future of the Energy Sector in Jordan, presented by the Director of the Directorate of Planning and Institutional Development at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Eng. Shurouq Abdel-Ghani.
The lecture was attended by the Dean of the School of Natural Resources Engineering and its management (SNREM), Dr. Qassem Abdel-Aal, Vice Dean of DSA, Dr. Mustafa Jaradat, SNREM Faculty Member and Project Coordinator of the German Energy Academy (GEA) in Jordan, Dr. Aiman Batayneh, energy department and the academy students.
The lecture comes within the implementation of the memorandum of understanding signed between the Ministry and GJU to link the academic side with the applied side and to ensure that students and university professors are informed of developments in the energy sector.
During the lecture, Abdel-Ghani discussed the main achievements of the sector during the past years and plans for achieving the Ministry's vision of sustainable energy supply security. She also reviewed the initiatives of the economic modernization vision related to the energy sector, stressing the importance of participatory work between the sector's institutions to implement the sector's initiatives.
At the end of the lecture, Abdul Ghani visited the German Energy Academy project at the university, where she was briefed on the energy efficiency course and met with its students.
