The German Jordanian University (GJU), through its Center for E-Learning and Academic Performance Improvement, organized an introductory workshop for faculty members on the OnlineGate Project, as part of its efforts to advance cross-border digital education and accelerate digital transformation in higher education.

The workshop is part of a joint project between GJU and the Würzburg-Schweinfurt University of Applied Sciences (THWS) in Germany, which aims to offer accredited academic programs in Germany through a fully integrated digital learning environment, thereby expanding access to higher education.

During the opening session, Eng. Waed Al-Sawaeer, Operations and Development Coordinator at the Center, emphasized the importance of integration and collaboration between academic and administrative staff to ensure the project’s success and achieve its goals in advancing digital education.

For her part, Ms. Iris Wildfeuer, Head of the THWS GATE Jordan Project, highlighted the social and educational dimensions of the initiative, noting its role in providing educational opportunities for students who are unable to pursue university studies due to various circumstances. She also stressed its contribution to promoting flexible learning opportunities in the future through scholarships and diverse academic pathways.

The workshop featured technical and academic presentations delivered by the instructional design team at the Center, including Lina Abusamha, Areej Alhardan, and Ayah Manna. The presentations covered course development frameworks, academic content requirements, visual content production methods, and digital learning standards adopted within the project.

The workshop focused on designing online courses based on student-centered learning approaches, enhancing interaction within digital learning environments, and utilizing modern video production tools supported by advanced technologies and artificial intelligence to develop educational content.

The OnlineGate Project is considered one of the leading digital transformation initiatives at GJU. It contributes to strengthening the university’s presence in international education, expanding its academic partnerships, and supporting its vision of delivering high-quality education through digital platforms.

GJU continues its efforts to advance digital education and foster innovation in academic practices, in line with its strategy for modernization and internationalization in the higher education sector.
