As part of the activities of the "My Right to Learn" Initiative, currently hosted by the German Jordanian University (GJU) at its Jabal Amman Campus, Eng. Rawan Khattab delivered an interactive workshop titled "Future Makers: Artificial Intelligence Between Learning and Creativity." The workshop aimed to introduce children to the concept of artificial intelligence through a simple and engaging approach while raising their awareness of modern technologies and how to use them safely and responsibly.

The workshop explored the fundamentals of artificial intelligence, its most prominent real-life applications, benefits, and areas of use. It also emphasized the importance of critical thinking and verifying information when interacting with AI-powered tools.

Participants engaged in a variety of practical and interactive activities, where they learned the basics of Robotics, how robots are programmed, and how they execute commands. Through hands-on exercises and worksheets, the children gained a better understanding of how AI technologies function and learned to distinguish between applications that rely on artificial intelligence and those that do not, helping to foster their critical thinking, creativity, and innovation skills.

The workshop witnessed remarkable enthusiasm from the participating children, who actively engaged in the activities and enjoyed a stimulating educational experience that combined knowledge with practical application in an inspiring learning environment.

The workshop forms part of the ongoing efforts of the "My Right to Learn" Initiative to promote creative education and develop future-ready skills among children. The initiative is supervised by its founder, Mr. Abdul Hakim Arabiyat, coordinated by Ms. Heba Arabiyat, and supported by students from the School of Architecture and Built Environment (SABE) at GJU, who contributed to organizing the activities and accompanying the children throughout the event.

This activity also aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 – Quality Education, by promoting interactive learning and future skills development; SDG 9 – Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, through raising awareness of emerging technologies and digital innovation; and SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals, by strengthening collaboration between academic and community institutions to provide children with high-quality learning opportunities.
