The German Jordanian University (GJU) organized a free medical day for students participating in the (My Right to Learn) Initiative, in collaboration with the Dr. Salah Al-Tawil Dental Center and Damati Optics Center, with the participation of the University Physician, Dr. Hatif Al-Wa'er, and Dr. Aseel Alqam, physician at the University Clinic on the Jabal Amman Campus. The initiative aimed to promote children's health and support a comprehensive educational environment.
Mr. Abdulhakim Arabiyat, Supervisor of the "Haqqi Ata'allam" Initiative, emphasized that safeguarding children's health is a fundamental pillar of their educational journey. He noted that organizing the medical day reflects the University's commitment to providing preventive healthcare while promoting early detection and health awareness.
The event included medical examinations for participating students, along with medical consultations and recommendations. It also featured an awareness session delivered by Dr. Aseel Alqam on essential health guidelines during the summer season.
As part of their commitment to social responsibility, the Dr. Salah Al-Tawil Dental Center distributed complimentary oral hygiene kits, while the Damati Optics Center provided free prescription eyeglasses to students whose examinations confirmed they needed vision correction.
Volunteers from the (My Right to Learn) Initiative, including students from the School of Architecture and Built Environment, together with volunteers from the local community under the supervision of Ms. Hiba Arabiyat, contributed to organizing the event, which concluded with honoring the participating partners in recognition of their valuable support.
This medical day forms part of the (My Right to Learn) Initiative’s ongoing programs aimed at providing an integrated educational and health-supportive environment while promoting health awareness among children in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
