Based on the decision of the 9th International Conference on Information System Design & Intelligent Applications (ISDIA-2025) editorial board, steering committee and recommendations of the Session Chairs, Prof. Ala’ Khalifeh, a faculty member at the School of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology / Department of Electrical Engineering and the president advisor for campus life and diversity, from the School of Electrical Eng. and Information Technology/ Electrical Eng. department and his student Haya Alshahrour from Jade Hochschule, Wilhelmshaven, Germany have received the “Best Paper Award “ for their paper entitled: “Interoperability, Reliability, and Efficiency in IoT Protocols: A Comparative Review”, which was presented in the ISDIA-2025 conference organized by University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD), Dubai Campus, UAE during 03-04 January 2025.
This review paper explores interoperability, reliability, and efficiency in IoT communication protocols, comparing their strengths and weaknesses, which examines how protocols like Message Queuing Telemetry Transport (MQTT), Constrained Application Protocol (CoAP), Advanced Message Queuing Protocol (AMQP), Data Distribution Service (DDS), and Extensible Messaging and Presence Protocol (XMPP) performs in terms of interoperability, quality of service (QoS)/ reliability, energy consumption and transmission efficiency in IoT ecosystems.
Knowing that the paper is currently under editorial production process by Springer-Nature for publication in Springer Lecture Notes in Networks and Systems (LNNS) Series indexed in Scopus.
