The German Jordanian University  (GJU) has launched its annual "My Right to Learn" initiative for 2024 at its Jabal Amman campus, marking the second consecutive year of the program. The initiative, hosted at the campus and attended by students from various public schools in the Jabal Oman area including Abdaliya Basic, Shukri Shashaa, Bilal bin Rabah, and Arwa bint Al-Harith, underscores the university's commitment to serving the local community.

Led by university president Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli and supported by university staff and volunteer students, the initiative forms a key component of the university's broader strategy aimed at delivering high-quality educational and social services. Its overarching goal is to foster a positive societal impact while empowering students to actively contribute to their community.

Mr. Abdul Hakim Arabiyat, overseeing the initiative, highlighted that the month-long program features a range of educational activities spanning mathematics, science, and computer science, complemented by language courses in Arabic, English, and German to enhance communication skills. Additionally, students are exposed to civic education and occupational health and safety training. The program also aims to cultivate new skills among participants, such as drawing and music.

This year's edition includes organized visits to heritage and national sites in collaboration with relevant authorities, designed to refine students' personalities and deepen their engagement as proactive members of society.
