The German Jordanian University (GJU) hosted a workshop titled "Recognition of Prior Learning and Micro-Credentials" on Monday and Tuesday, November 25-26, 2024, at its Jabal Amman campus. Organized by the Erasmus+ National Office in collaboration with GJU's International Projects Office, the workshop brought together key stakeholders in the higher education sector, including representatives from the Erasmus+ National Office, the European Union Delegation to Jordan, and the Higher Education Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission (HEAC).

International experts, including Prof. Bernold Hasenknopf and Prof. Mitchell Peters, shared successful global experiences and models for implementing these concepts in education systems.
Interactive workshops explored topics such as the evaluation of micro-credentials, quality assurance, and validation mechanisms. The day concluded with one-on-one meetings between participants and the international experts to exchange ideas and insights.

The second day focused on developing actionable plans to integrate the recognition of prior learning and micro-credentials into Jordan's higher education system. Through interactive workshops, participants addressed implementation challenges such as policy, accreditation, and collaboration with industries, proposing innovative solutions to align these elements effectively.
The workshop concluded with a final session summarizing key outcomes and recommendations, followed by closing remarks from the Erasmus+ National Office and HEAC.
This workshop underscores GJU’s commitment to adopting innovative educational practices and strengthening Jordan's position within global higher education networks.
