The German Jordanian University hosted the Jordanian Universities Taekwondo Championship for male and female students, organized by the Jordanian Universities Sports Federation in cooperation with GJU. The tournament was held over two days (April 28–29, 2025) at the university's sports hall.
On behalf of GJU President, Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli, the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Zilal Owais, honored the top three winners in the individual and team male categories. The tournament witnessed the participation of around 200 athletes representing 20 universities.
GJU student Tareq Mohammad Mahmoud Hussein, majoring in Computer Engineering, won the gold medal and the title in the under-87 kg weight category.
At the end of the second day, Dr. Omar Al-Bataineh, Assistant Dean of Student Affairs, awarded the top three winners in the female individual and team categories.
