The German Language Center (GLC) at the German Jordanian University (GJU) hosted a specialized information session on funding and scholarship opportunities offered by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). The event was attended by students, faculty members, and staff interested in pursuing further studies, research, and strengthening academic cooperation with German institutions.

The session was organized by DAAD lecturer Silvie Zeller, as part of the university’s ongoing efforts to raise awareness of international academic opportunities and broaden students’ horizons toward higher education in Germany.

The session was delivered by Project Manager Zeina Abdo and Program Officer Batool Al Anani from the DAAD Regional Office in Amman, who presented a wide range of funding and scholarship programs offered by the organization. These included master’s scholarships across various disciplines such as STEM fields, public policy, development studies, architecture, as well as performing arts, fine arts, design, and visual communication. The programs also featured fully funded opportunities for PhD and postdoctoral research, in addition to short-term research visits and academic collaboration programs for faculty members and educational institutions.

The session further provided a detailed overview of application requirements, selection procedures, evaluation criteria, and deadlines for each program, enabling participants to better understand application pathways and make the most of available opportunities.

Following the presentation, attendees had the opportunity to engage directly with DAAD representatives through one-on-one consultations, addressing inquiries related to scholarships and research opportunities in Germany, ensuring personalized guidance aligned with their academic interests.

The event concluded with a reaffirmation of the German Jordanian University’s (GJU) commitment to strengthening international academic exchange and supporting its academic community in exploring educational and research opportunities in Germany. The German Language Center (GLC) also expressed its gratitude to Zeina Abdo and Batool Al Anani for their valuable insights and engaging interaction with attendees.
