Under the Patronage of the Minister of State for Legal Affairs, H.E. Mrs. Wafaa Bani Mustafa, the German Jordanian University (GJU), hosted the conference of “The Jordanian Youth’s Vision on the Outcomes of the Royal Committee for the Modernization of the Political System”, organized by Al-Hayat Center “Rased”.
H.E. Bani Mustafa, stated that the positive interaction between civil society and universities is the most important ingredient and accelerator of the political reform process and the modernization of the political system.
Bani Mustafa added that the channels of communication and cooperation must be developed to be influential in the reform process.
The President of GJU, Dr. Ala'aldeen Al-Halhouli, said that the university is intensifying its efforts as an influential national institution to solidify the principles of citizenship, the rule of law and patriotism. Also, to empower students in all scientific, political, and extracurricular aspects to expand their horizons, achieve their ambitious dreams, and invest in their talents to build a promising and bright future.
Al-Halhouli added that educational institutions all over the country seek to provide young people with the right tools to create leaders with awareness and understanding of national issues and challenges. Also, to be capable of making a change, build a strong and resilient future, in line with the vision of His Majesty King Abdullah II, where there is no political, economic, and social renaissance without motivating young people to engage in all these areas through national programs directed to them.
Director of the Center, Dr. Amer Bani Amer, said that the outputs of the Royal Committee came to be a basis for the modern democratic building, based on national identity, equality in rights and duties, and its pillars are the principles of effective citizenship that the national interest presents.
The conference included a discussion session on the recommendations of the Royal Committee to modernize the political system, the priorities of political reform in Jordan with the participation of the Committee members.
