The Road Safety Center of Excellence (RSCE) at German Jordanian University (GJU), in cooperation with the Jordanian Society for the Prevention of Road Accidents (JSPRA), organized an awareness lecture titled “Traffic Safety: Reality and Solutions” on the occasion of World Traffic Day. The lecture was delivered by the Society’s President, Eng. Wafai Mseis.

Director of the Center, Dr. Omar Al-Batayneh, stressed during the event that traffic safety affects everyone without exception, noting that traffic accidents are not merely statistics, but human tragedies whose impacts extend to families and society, making traffic awareness a collective responsibility.

He added that the Center is committed to promoting a culture of traffic safety among youth and students, as they are the most capable of creating positive change in community behavior.

For his part, Eng. Wafai Mseis reviewed the current state of traffic safety in Jordan and highlighted the key challenges associated with road accidents, while presenting a number of practical solutions and best practices aimed at reducing accidents and promoting the safe use of roads.

He also emphasized the importance of strengthening traffic awareness among young people and university students, considering them essential partners in promoting responsible road behavior, and underscored the need to adhere to traffic laws and regulations to protect lives and property.

The lecture, which comes as part of the Center’s efforts to enhance public safety concepts and raise traffic awareness, was attended by a number of university students, academic and administrative staff members, as well as a group of female students from Khawla Bint Al-Azwar School, within the framework of the university’s efforts to strengthen its community role and spread traffic awareness among different segments of society.
