A delegation from the German Jordanian University (GJU), led by President Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli, participated in Web Summit Doha 2025. As a premier global event in technology and innovation, the summit brought together industry leaders, policymakers, innovators, and educators to discuss emerging trends, breakthrough technologies, and strategies shaping the global technology landscape.

Beyond the summit, GJU’s delegation engaged strategically with leading Qatari educational and research institutions, exploring opportunities for collaborative research, student exchange programs, and joint initiatives in technological innovation. The delegation also sought funding for critical humanitarian education projects, particularly the EDU-SYRIA Program, which supports Syrian refugees and disadvantaged Jordanian students in accessing higher education.

Key meetings included discussions with Education Above All (EAA), Reach Out To Asia (ROTA), and Silatech, as well as senior representatives from Hamad Bin Khalifa University’s (HBKU) Qatar Environment and Energy Research Institute (QEERI), Qatar Computing Research Institute (QCRI), and the College of Science and Engineering. These engagements laid the groundwork for potential partnerships in joint research, innovation, youth upskilling, and inter-university educational initiatives, as well as securing financial support for GJU’s humanitarian education programs.
Reflecting on the visit,

Prof. Al-Halhouli emphasized the strategic importance of GJU’s regional collaborations, noting that the fruitful discussions had unlocked promising opportunities in innovation, research collaboration, and funding. He further stressed the university's strong belief in building cross-border partnerships grounded in innovation, quality education, and humanitarian values.

The delegation’s visit has reinforced GJU’s ties with leading Qatari institutions, paving the way for impactful collaborations that will drive academic excellence, regional cooperation, and long-term advancements in education and innovation.
