The German Jordanian University (GJU) organized the “1st Symposium of Procurement Chain at GJU: Opportunities and Challenges” to Procurement Committees members and related GJU employees, in the presence of the President of GJU Prof. Ala'aldeen Al-Halhouli and Vice President, Prof. Malek Alsharairi.
The workshop aimed to train and qualify the participants in procurement, supply, supply chain and familiarize them with the systems and instructions of the procurement system to facilitate work and complete it promptly.
Prof. Al-Halhouli stressed the importance of reflecting an excellent image of GJU at all levels. He also directed to serving the targeted categories utilizing the existing tools with the highest standards of quality and professionalism.
From his side, Prof. Alsharairi emphasized that there will be a series of meetings regularly to achieve the ultimate goals and to excel in service at the German Jordanian University, indicating the challenges and variables that could affect the chain of supply and consequently the quality of the services.
Moreover, Prof. Alsharairi pointed out the necessity of commitment and revision of the regulations and instructions for procurement, in addition to efficient implementation.
The Symposium included three topics: Highlights on the Gov. Procurement Reg. and Committees Structure, Challenges of procurement for Scientific Research and Externally Funded Projects and Procurement cycle, secretarial work, organization, planning, checklists, and other issues.
