The German Jordanian University (GJU) concluded its 2026 Summer Semester Indoor Football Championship, with more than 30 teams and approximately 250 students taking part. The tournament featured a vibrant atmosphere of competitive spirit, sportsmanship, and camaraderie, reflecting GJU students’ strong engagement with and enthusiasm for university sports.

The championship concluded on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, with the winning teams honored on behalf of the Dean of Student Affairs by Dr. Ziad Al-Zoubi, Assistant Dean for Sports Affairs, The tournament was organized and managed by Coach Fahd Farha, Head Coach of GJU’s football teams. In addition to providing an engaging competitive experience for students, the championship served as an opportunity to assess players’ technical abilities, monitor the performance of GJU team members, and identify promising new talent to join the University’s football team.

The tournament witnessed closely contested matches marked by enthusiasm, excitement, and a strong commitment to fair play and sportsmanship. The competition culminated in the final match between Mohammad Al-Jbour’s team and Mohammad Abu Hamour’s team.

Mohammad Al-Jubour’s team secured the championship title after winning the final match. The winning team consisted of Abdullah Al-Awawdeh, Mohammad Al-Jubour, Abdulrahman Omran, Abdulaziz Jreiri, Mustafa Aziz, Abdullah Abu Hammad, and Abdulrahman Emad.

Abdullah Al-Awawdeh was also named Best Player of the Tournament in recognition of his outstanding performance throughout the competition.

The championship highlighted the important role of university sports in identifying and developing student talent, while also strengthening GJU’s sports teams and national university squads with skilled and promising players. Such competitions contribute to building a stronger pool of athletes capable of representing the University in upcoming sporting events and championships.

The tournament concluded with the presentation of awards to the winning team and the Best Player, alongside recognition of the strong level of organization and enthusiastic student participation. GJU reaffirmed its commitment to continuing to organize sports tournaments and activities that promote healthy competition, teamwork, sportsmanship, and an active student life across the University.
