Under the patronage of German Jordanian University (GJU) President Prof. Ala'aldeen Al-Halhouli and the presence of the Dean of Student affairs the GJU Model United Nations (GJUMUN) conference, organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs (DSA), has concluded. The three-day conference brought together more than 180 students from over thirty schools and universities across Amman, offering them a platform to sharpen their debate, negotiation, and public speaking skills.
Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli emphasized the importance of organizing such events in empowering young people and encouraging their engagement with global issues. He noted that the conference provides students with a platform to exchange ideas and develop their leadership skills, contributing to the preparation of a generation capable of addressing global challenges.
He added that such events go beyond academic knowledge, helping build students’ self-confidence and enhance their ability to express their views effectively. He also commended the valuable partnerships with the participating schools and universities in delivering this distinguished educational experience.
Senator Dr. Amjad Jmei'an also highlighted the value of Model UN conferences for students around the world, noting that they give young people a hands-on experience of international diplomacy, foster a culture of dialogue and respect for differing views, and help prepare young leaders to take an active role in public life.
Members of the GJUMUN Club's administrative board shared their experiences organizing the event, stressing its role in promoting dialogue and negotiation among students and in developing their critical thinking and active participation.
