The German Jordanian University (GJU) concluded the first group of specialized workshops aimed at modernizing and developing the higher education sector in Syria, as part of the Syrian Innovation in Academia (SyrIA) project, with the participation of a Syrian academic and administrative delegation comprising university vice presidents, deans and department heads, and representatives from the Ministry of Higher Education.
Over five days, the workshops addressed specialized topics in university administration and institutional development, including executive leadership, planning and performance indicators, quality assurance and accreditation, governance and transparency, administrative process reengineering, financial modeling, digital transformation, electronic document and records management, and the use of artificial intelligence in university administration. The sessions were delivered by academics and experts from GJU and the University of Jordan through training and practical sessions, case studies, and simulation exercises.
At the conclusion of the workshops, certificates were presented to the participants. The SyrIA project will continue with the participation of additional groups of delegations over the coming weeks.
