The German Jordanian University (GJU) and Jordan International Insurance Company (Newton Insurance) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to equip and operate the medical clinic on the university campus. The agreement was signed on behalf of the university by Prof. Ala'aldeen Al-Halhouli, GJU President, and on behalf of the company by Mr. Osama Samara Al-Zoubi, Executive General Manager at newton.

The signing of this MoU comes within the framework of strengthening cooperation between the two parties in the healthcare sector, contributing to the enhancement of medical services provided on campus. Under the agreement, Newton Insurance will equip the medical clinic at its new location within the university and participate in its operation and management. The clinic will provide primary healthcare services, first aid, follow-up care for minor medical conditions, and referrals for cases requiring specialized treatment to appropriate medical centers. During its initial phase, these services will be offered to students, employees, and faculty members.

The two parties also agreed to expand the scope of services in the next phase by adding a dental clinic and relocating the pharmacy to the new facility, thereby enhancing the integration of healthcare services on campus. In addition, suitable mechanisms for providing selected services to the local community will be explored, subject to future agreements between the parties.

This collaboration reflects The German Jordanian University’s commitment to providing a modern and healthy university environment, improving the quality of healthcare services offered to its community, and strengthening partnerships between the academic and insurance sectors in a manner that serves students, employees, and the wider local community.
