The German Jordanian University (GJU), in collaboration with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), recently conducted an intensive training on water and sanitation engineering in humanitarian contexts, as part of a collaboration agreement between the two institutions.

This initiative is aligned with GJU's ongoing efforts to contribute to capacity building in the WASH sector. The training, coordinated by Prof. Arwa Abdelhay and co-delivered by Dr. Munjed Alsharif and Laurent Wismer (WatHab Energy, Partnerships and Knowledge Manager), equipped ICRC staff with essential skills to address water and sanitation needs in humanitarian settings over a five-day course.

The program, which was preceded by virtual pre-course sessions, will be followed by post-capacity building sessions to ensure participants can effectively apply the knowledge in their daily work.
