The German Jordanian University (GJU) has achieved a significant academic milestone, with five of its disciplines ranked in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026, marking an unprecedented step that reflects its rapid development and growing global standing. The university ranked among the top 30% of institutions included in this prestigious classification.
For the first time in its history, the university entered the rankings in Arts & Design, Mechanical, Aeronautical & Manufacturing Engineering, and Business and Management Studies, highlighting the success of its vision to integrate the German applied sciences model with a comprehensive academic system aligned with modern demands.
This achievement further reinforces the university’s continued presence over the past two years in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Computer Science and Information Systems, both of which have maintained consistent rankings.
According to the 2026 rankings, the university placed among the top 300 globally in Arts & Design, top 350 in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, top 450 in Business and Management Studies, and top 500 in Computer Science and Information Systems. It also ranked within the top 575 globally in Mechanical, Aeronautical & Manufacturing Engineering, reflecting the diversity and strength of its academic excellence.
The University President, Prof. Alaaldeen Al-Halhouli, stated that this achievement reflects the qualitative expansion of academic programs and a strong commitment to delivering world-class education. He noted that ranking in five subjects, including three new entries, represents a pivotal milestone in the university’s academic journey and enhances its growing international reputation.
He added that the university’s outstanding performance in the Employer Reputation indicator—one of the key QS metrics—demonstrates the effectiveness of its practice-oriented educational model, which includes mandatory industrial training, preparing graduates to compete effectively in the global job market.
The QS World University Rankings by Subject are based on a rigorous methodology that includes academic reputation, employer reputation, research citations, H-index, and international research collaboration.
This achievement reflects the vision of GJU in advancing the quality of education and research, strengthening international partnerships, and preparing graduates capable of innovation and leadership in both local and global environments.
