A delegation from German Development Cooperation GIZ consisting of Country Director, Mrs. Elisabeth Girrbach and Head of Component -Labour Market Oriented Vocational Education, Higher Education and Training – MOVE-HET, Prof. Wolfgang Frohberg visited the German Jordanian University (GJU) in the presence of the President of GJU, Prof. Ala’aldeen Al- Halhouli, Vice President for International Affairs, Prof. Ralf Rosskopf, the Dean of Deanship of Innovation, Technology Transfer and Entrepreneurship, Dr. Nidal Al-Shawawreh, Director of Office for Industrial Links, Britta Kähler, Simone Strasburger, the Dual Studies Advisor, and Dr. Ibrahim Al-Refaei, Dual Studies Advisor.
Al- Halhouli welcomed the delegation members, expressing his appreciation for the deep and solid relationship with GIZ affirming the importance of the continuity of this strategic partnership, and exploring to strengthen and expand the joint projects.
Al- Halhouli pointed out the many potentials that both sides could coordinate together, in terms of internship opportunities for the students, joint projects, and research, attract industrial and business institutions inside the campus, besides explaining the new vision and the strategy of GJU for the upcoming years especially in the area of innovation, technology transfer and entrepreneurship.
From his side, Prof. Rosskopf briefed the delegation on the dual studies program and its benefits in narrowing the gaps between academia and the labor market. He also referred to the program's advantages, where students gain more confidence and experience upon graduation.
Mrs. Elisabeth stressed the solid partnership with the University assuring the importance of expanding the collaboration in some projects were identified, based on Jordan’s needs. Both sides agreed to conduct workshops and meetings to allocate the potential projects and joint objectives.
