The German Jordanian University took part in the seventh Erbil Higher Education Fair, focusing on educational tourism, held in Erbil, Kurdistan region of Iraq. The event, held under the patronage of Erbil Governor Omid Khoshnaw and attended by Jordanian Consul General Fouad Al-Majali, featured the university alongside 22 other Jordanian institutions. Led by Vice President Prof. Malek Alsharairi, the university's delegation showcased its offerings through a dedicated pavilion organized by the Tourism Promotion Board in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Jordanian Consulate in Erbil.
During the fair's inauguration, Prof. Alsharairi welcomed Governor Khoshnaw, Consul Majali, and attendees to the German Jordanian University pavilion. He highlighted the university's mission, distinctive programs, including its unique model of applied education, the Germany Year initiative, and trilingual approach.
In discussions with Consul Majali, representatives from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and the Jordan Tourism Board, Prof. Alsharairi emphasized the significance of Jordanian universities' participation in regional exhibitions. He underscored their role in showcasing programs that align with current demands, addressing regional and global labor market needs.
Speaking with Kurdistan 24 channel, Prof. Alsharairi extended congratulations to successful high school students and their families in Kurdistan Iraq. He invited them to explore educational opportunities provided by Jordanian universities, particularly the German Jordanian University, emphasizing their relevance to local market needs and their potential to enhance regional competencies and economic strength.
The German Jordanian University's participation in the Erbil exhibition coincided with the launch of an Open House event on its main campus, welcoming prospective students and parents to learn more about its programs.
