The Higher Education Council approved the establishment of two hosted programs at the German Jordanian University in cooperation with the German Technical University of Applied Science Würzburg-Schweinfurt. The programs include a bachelor’s degree in Social Work and Hydrogen Technology Engineering and will welcome their first group of students in the upcoming academic year of 2023/2024.
According to the agreement signed between the two universities, students who will join the programs will spend the first preparatory year at the German Jordanian University, and upon completing it successfully, the students will be eligibly registered at the Technical University of Applied Science Würzburg-Schweinfurt. However, the first and second years of the program will still be taught at the German Jordanian University
The President of the University, Prof. Ala’aaldeen Al-Halhouli, highlighted the significance of the collaboration between the German Jordanian University and its German partner in the region. The student’s educational journey of will be overseen by specialists from the two universities, pointing out that the students will spend the last three semesters at the Technical University of Applied Sciences Wirzburg-Schweinfurt in Germany.
Al-Halhouli also emphasized the university's aim to prepare competent Jordanian and Arab professionals who possess the necessary expertise and knowledge to work in various markets, including the Jordanian, Arab, German, and international spheres.  Especially that these majors are highly sought after, as social work major deals with preparing social workers to deal with the psychological and social dimensions of individuals and groups. And on the other hand, Hydrogen technology deals with the energy of hydrogen and its derivatives, its transportation and storage, and how to benefit from it.
It is noteworthy that the students who will enroll in these programs will obtain bachelor’s degrees from the German University of Applied Science Schweinfurt-Würzburg, in addition to the opportunity to obtain a residence permit to search for work, with an emphasis on the urgent need of the German, European and global market for these two majors.
