The German Jordanian University (GJU), in collaboration with the Madaba Directorate of Civil Defense, organized a practical training exercise to simulate a fake fire at the university. The event was attended by Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli, the President of the German Jordanian University, and Brigadier General Raafat Al-Maaytah, the Director of Madaba Police Directorate.

The training involved the outbreak of a simulated fire in a building, where the necessary procedures for firefighting and evacuating the injured and trapped individuals were demonstrated. Due to the leakage of hazardous chemicals at the site, a hazardous materials team and laboratory testing unit were called in for immediate intervention to address the situation and secure the site.

The aim of this training was to enhance preparedness and improve coordination between the university and relevant authorities in dealing with disasters and emergencies. It also aimed to train staff and students on how to effectively handle such incidents.

At the end of the training, Al-Maaytah and Al-Halhouli praised the efforts of the Civil Defense and emergency teams in making the exercise a success and achieving its goals, thanking them for their contributions.
