Amman – The German Jordanian University Organized the Biomedical Engineering Innovation Hackathon (Hack’a’Med) on December 1, 2024, in collaboration with the University of Stuttgart and under the patronage of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). The event aimed to foster creativity in the field of biomedical engineering through a series of academic and practical activities.

The event featured opening remarks from Prof. Peter P. Pott from Stuttgart and Dr. Jumana Ma’touq from GJU, where they emphasized the importance of innovation and the role of the hackathon in fostering collaboration between students and experts to develop technological solutions in this field.

Mr. Robin Meffle also delivered a lecture on "Project Management" offering valuable advice and methodological frameworks for efficiently managing teams and engineering projects. He emphasized the significance of strategic planning and thoughtful execution. The lecture sparked considerable engagement among the participants.

The program included scientific lectures and practical workshops presented by biomedical engineering expert Professor Bott, who discussed 3D printing and medical sensors. Additionally, cultural and recreational tours were organized in Amman, Madaba, and other locations, along with social evenings to foster networking among participants. The hackathon concluded on December 5 with final project presentations, followed by an award ceremony to honor the winning teams.

The event reflected the German Jordanian University’s commitment to providing an exceptional educational environment and strengthening academic cooperation between Jordan and Germany to support innovation in engineering and medical fields.
